Ronaldo charged by Uefa for improper conduct

Uefa has charged the Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo with improper conduct for a goal celebration in the win over Atletico Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The 34-year old celebrations at full-time against Atletico was a clear dig at Diego Simeone, who turned to fans and grabbed his crotch during his side’s 2-0 first leg victory.

Uefa will rule on the case on 21 March, but the Portuguese is unlikely to face a ban from Champions League action because Simeone was finedĀ£17,000 (CAD$30000) for his celebration.
