Messi scored a hat-trick as Barcelona move 10 points clear on top of La Liga

Real Betis 1-4 Barcelona

Messi scored a hat-trick to move Barcelona 10 points clear of Atlético Madrid with just 10 games left in the La Liga season.

Barca had a great game plan against one of the best offensive teams in the league and executed it to perfection, while Lionel Messi had another GOAT performance with a hat-trick that included one of his best goals of the season.

The Argentine Captain scored the first goal 18 minutes giving the goal keeper Pau Lopez no chance and found the far top right corner.

Then, Luis Suarez back-heeled a pass into the path of Lionel Messi who produced a first-time poked finish to double their lead just before the break. Before the Uruguayan made it 3-0 63rd minutes with a brilliant individual effort.

Luis Suarez picked up the ball about 30 yards out and drove towards goal, leaving two defenders trailing before firing low past keeper Pau Lopez.

The substitute Loren Moron produced a beautiful finish high beyond the reach of Marc Andre ter Stegen. Which happened to be a consolation goal.

Lionel Messi scored his hat-trick with a first-time clipped finish from near the edge of the area which loops over the head of Pau Lopez and goes in off the bar.

Betis fans rise to applaud the finish along with everybody else watching around the world. Barca are now 10 points clear of Atlético Madrid who lost yesterday to Athletic Bilbao 2-0 yesterday.
