Wolves knock Manchester United out of FA Cup to reach Semi-finals

Wolves 2-1 Manchester United

Wolverhampton Wanderers knocked Manchester United out to reach their first FA Cup semi-final for 21 years.

United produced their worst performance under the interim management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and were punished by dominating Wolves performance.

United goalkeeper Sergio Romero, in for David de Gea, made some brilliant saves in both halves to keep United level.

Raul Jimenez scored the first goal 70th minute, after he turned inside the box despite being surrounded by six red shirts and buried the shot, Sergio Romero couldn’t do anything about it.

Diogo Jota doubled their lead six minutes later, shrugging off United’s Luke Shaw on the break before shooting low past the exposed Romero.

United defender Victor Lindelof was shown a red card by referee Martin Atkinson for a touchline challenge on Jota, but it was downgraded it to yellow after a VAR review.

Marcus Rashford scored a consolation goal in stoppage time, but it was too little too late.
