Mane scored twice as Liverpool soared into the Quarter-Finals ahead of Bayern

Sadio Mane scored twice as Liverpool win Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena to book their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals for the second successive season.

After a poor start from both side; giving away possession easily. It was Liverpool who took the lead.

Sadio Mane took control of a long ball passed by Van Dijk in the 26th minute discharged it into the net, after beating two defenders including the goalkeeper – Manuel Neuer, who charged out to the edge of the box.

Bayern needed at least two goals, but they were able to pull one back when Serge Gnabry’s shot across goal was turned in by Joel Matip from close range.

The German team were totally outclassed after the break and couldn’t muster much attack and they got punished when James Milner’s corner, curled straight into the middle where Virgil van Dijk scored from a towering header into the net.

Sadio Mane sealed the victory six minute from time with a great header. Mohamed Salah played a lovely ball into the box and Mane nodded it into the net.
