Mbappe scored as PSG win their first game after Champions League exit

Dijon 0-4 Paris St. Germain

Paris St-Germain thrashed struggling Dijon in their first game since the Champions League exit.

Manchester United knocked out PSG in the last-16 phase of the Champions League, losing 3-1 on the away goals rule in Paris on 6 March.

Marquinhos headed in an early goal from a corner to give PSG a great start and Kylian Mbappe slid in to double their lead with a right footed shot from very close range after a cross from Layvin Kurzawa.

Angel di Maria scored with a free-kick and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting added a fourth from close range in injury time.

The victory took PSG 17 points clear at the top of Ligue 1, with them also having a game in hand on second-placed Lille as they are closing in on their second successive title – and sixth in seven years.

But the team’s main aim is European success and their elimination by United means they have gone out in the last 16 of the Champions League three years in a row.

Marcus Rashford’s controversial injury-time penalty had knocked PSG out of Europe and Tuchel was still unhappy about that decision after the Dijon match.
