Benzema scored twice as Real Madrid came from behind to beat Real Valladolid

Real Valladolid 1-4 Real Madrid

Karim Benzema scored twice as Real Madrid came from behind to put four goals past Real Valladolid in La Liga, though the result may not ease the pressure on head coach Santiago Solari.

Valladoolid started the match brightly but Rubén Alcaraz ballooned too high a penalty awarded too high 10 minutes into the match. Then they had two goals from Sergi Guardiola ruled out for offside.

Then Anuar Mohamed got the opener with a shot from very close range to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Sergi Guardiola 29th minute.

Raphael Varane got the equalizer for Madrid with right footed shot from close range after it was headed down by Nacho.

Karim Benzema then scored twice early second half, from a penalty and a header to give the visitors two goals lead.

Casemiro was sent off for two yellows before Luka Modric sealed the victory with a fourth goal.

Third-placed Real, who have only won two of their past six games, are 12 points behind leaders and champions Barcelona.

They were knocked out out of the Champions League, the tournament they had won for three consecutive years, after losing 4-1 at home to Ajax on Tuesday – their fourth consecutive home defeat.
