Dortmund 0-1 Tottenham (Agg. 0-4)
Tottenham knocked Borussia Dortmund out of the Champions League to reach quarter-finals after a comfortable 1 nil victory. Harry Kane became the club’s top scorer in European competition for the first time since 2011.
Following a 3-0 first leg victory, Spurs sat back first-half and defended very well against a desperate opponent, who were dominant throughout the half.
But Harry Kane scored three minutes after the break to send Spurs into the quarter-final of the Champions League. Dortmund did not register a single shot on target during the second half.
The England captain collected Moussa Sissoko’s pass and steadied himself brilliantly before firing into the top corner, sending it past Roman Burki.
Kane scored his 24th European goal for Tottenham, moving him one goal clear of Jermain Defoe who held the club record previously.
The draw for the quarter-finals is on Friday, 15 March.
