Real Madrid 1-4 Ajax (Agg. 3-5)
Ajax put up a stunning performance to knock out the Champions League holders and 13-time European champions Real Madrid at the Bernabeu and progress into the quarter-final for the first time in 22 years.
Ajax were trailing 2-1 from the first-leg, but it took just 18 minutes to go a goal ahead on aggregates (2-3).
Dusan Tadic supplied a pass and Hakim Ziyech confidently finished it into the back of the net.
Moments later, he supplied another brilliant pass into the run of David Neres, who took it around Thibaut Courtois and clip it into the net.
Then Dusan Tadic made it 3 nil two minutes after the hour mark, he whipped an effort into the top corner from the edge of the area.
Real looked to have gained a lifeline when Marco Asensio scored with 20 minutes remaining.
But Ajax midfielder Lasse Schone scored from a spectacular free-kick just two minutes later putting a doubt on any hope of recovery for Real, who will have to score three goals to progress.
Real saw their miserable night compounded as Nacho was sent off in injury time for a second bookable offence, as Ajax became the first team to overturn a 2-1 first-leg home defeat in the Champions League.
