Arsenal thrashed Bournemouth to keep Champions League dream alive

Arsenal 5-1 Bournemouth

Arsenal remain a point ahead of Manchester United battle for top four finish after thrashing Bournemouth, earning their eighth straight Premier League home win.

Arsenal had a perfect start after Mesut Ozil scored the opening goals 4 minutes. An early ball was sent forward by Sead Kolasinac, the German ran free and lifted it over the keeper.

Just before half-an-hour Henrikh Mkhitaryan doubled their lead after a pass from Ozil.

Bournemouth got one back after a defensive mistake that allowed Lys Mousset to pass into an open net.

But Arsenal restore their lead margin early second half as Laurent Koscielny scored from close range following a free-kick.

Before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang calmly slot in in another goal to make it 4-1.

Then substitute Alexandre Lacazette sealed the victory from clinical free-kick to give Arsenal a great stat heading into Saturday’s north London derby.

The result made it a nine successive league defeat for Bournemouth.
