Rodgers watch from the stand as Leicester beat Brighton

New Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers watched from the stands as the Leicester beat Brighton to move up to 11th in the Premier League table.

Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler took caretaker charge after the sacking of Claude Puel on Sunday, as Rodgers who was confirmed as boss an hour before kick-off watched from the stand.

Demarai Gray gave the home team an early opener after smash home from Youri Tielemans’s pass.

Jamie Vardy doubled Leicester’s lead 63rd minute after a pass from James Maddison, but Davy Propper scored for Brighton three minutes later from a low drive to reduce the deficit.

The visitors, who have yet to win a Premier League game in 2019, could not find an equalizer and remain three points above the relegation zone. While Leicester moved to 11th position.
