Chelsea 0-2 Manchester United
Manchester United progressed into the FA Cup quarter-finals after a comfortable victory at Stamford Bridge over Chelsea putting more pressure on the reign of the Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.
The Chelsea fans were furious during the game chanting “f*** Sarri-ball” but when asked if he has ever been subjected to such before, Sarri laughed it off ” No, but there’s a first time for everything.” He further said ” I am worried about the results, not the fans.”
United recovered perfectly after their first defeat under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – against Paris St-Germain in the Champions League – as they eased into the last eight.
Ander Herrera headed in a perfect cross from Paul Pogba to give United a 31st-minute lead.
Paul Pogba doubled United’s lead just before half-time as he dived to head Marcus Rashford’s delivery past Kepa Arrizabalaga, who should have done better.
Chelsea fans demanded for Frank Lampard return as manager, and joined United’s fans in chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning”.
On the other hand, Solskjaer received big applause and loud acclamation from United’s supporters after another great victory, despite the absence of the injured Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.
FA Cup quarter final’s draw followed immediately with Manchester United drawn against Wolves, who qualified yesterday after a 1-nil victory over Bristol City.
