Balottelli score his third in four as Marseille beat Amiens

Marseille 2-0 Amiens

Mario Balotelli scored his third goal in four games for Marseille as they win over Amiens in Ligue 1.

Ex-Manchester City and Liverpool striker Balotelli, 28, joined Marseille from Nice on a free transfer in January.

Florian Thauvin gave Marseille a 19th minute lead, after a pass from Maxime Lopez.

Mario Balotelli doubled their lead six minutes later with a fine turn and shot from Lucas Ocampos’ pass. The Italian’s 70th minute goal was ruled out for offside by video assistant referee decision.

The win took Marseille from sixth to fourth, but they could drop back down the table later on Saturday with fifth-placed Saint Etienne facing leaders Paris St-Germain and Montpellier in sixth facing a Lille side who are second.
