Lacazette’s late goal against Cardiff City keeps Arsenal’s top four dream alive

Arsenal fought hard to win at Emirates Stadium against Cardiff who played for the first time since the disappearance of striker Emiliano Sala. Tributes were paid to Sala before the game from both sets of players, club officials and supporters.

There was no single shot on target from both side in the first half, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s 66th-minute spot kick gave Arsenal lead. Penalty awarded after Bruno Ecuele Manga had clumsily brought down Sead Kolasinac.

Alexandre Lacazette scored a late goal to double Arsenal’s lead before Nathaniel Mendez-Laing pulled¬†got one back for the visitors in injury time after he shot past Bernd Leno.

The win takes Arsenal to 47 points, the same as fourth-placed Chelsea in the Premier League table.
