Liverpool extended their lead on top of the Premier League table by seven points at Brighton after Mohamed Salah’s penalty goal.
The Reds dominated possession against a well organized defensive hosts and created only few chances until Mohamed Salah was brought down in the 18-yard box early second half.
The Egyptian forward scored his 14th Premier League goal of the season to become joint top scorer with Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Brighton tried to press but Liverpool’s dominance did not permit an equalizer. This win helps Liverpool to extend their advantage in the title race, with third-placed Tottenham playing on Sunday and second placed Manchester City not playing until Monday.
