Manchester United seem to have confirmed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager after sacking Mourinho. The Manchester United website page which confirmed the manager was shortly deleted.
There is no official announcement yet for Norwegian to take from Jose Mourinho, who was sacked early Tuesday.
Solskjaer played under Alex Ferguson, he scored 126 goals in 11 seasons. He is currently in charge of the managing Norwegian club, Molde but league finished in November and is not due to restart until March.
As reported by BBC Sports: “A video on United’s official website, featuring Solskjaer scoring the winner in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich in 1999, was captioned: “Solskjaer becomes our interim manager, 20 seasons after clinching the Treble with THAT goal at Camp Nou…”
The Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg has already congratulated Solskjaer’s appointment on social media, writing: “Great day for Norwegian football. Good luck keeping control of the Red Devils.” She later deleted the tweet.
