Group D: Tottenham fought back to equalize against Barcelona and qualify for knockout stages as Inter Milan drop to Europa

Tottenham reached the knockout stages with a late dramatic equalizer against Barcelona to earn a much needed qualification to the last 16 of Champions League. While Inter Milan dropped to Europa at San Siro after a draw against PSV Eindhoven 

Ousmane Dembele‘s early strike gave Barcelona the lead, but Tottenham fought hard against the solid defence of the host with both Harry Kane and Son Heung-min going close.

They were on the verge of elimination after Mauro Icardi scored a 73rd minute equalizer for Inter against PSV. But an 85th equalizer from Lucas Moura against Barcelona restored hope for Tottenham.

“I am so happy for the fans – this is a massive, massive achievement for the club,” said Pochettino.

“We suffered because when we finished the game we did not know the result at Inter. It was two very difficult minutes, but in the end of course we were so happy. It’s so important for the club.”
