Southampton 2-2 Manchester United
Manchester United recovered from an abysmal start after going down two goals in 20 minutes, but were held to a disappointing draw by a bottom table Southampton.
Manchester United played two midfielders as defenders due to injury Southamptom went ahead scoring two goals in opening 20 minutes with great finish from Stuart Armstrong after Nathan Redmond went on a skillful dribble before feeding Obafemi at the edge of the area who picked out Armstrong in space on the right hand side of the box and the Scot crowned the buildup with an immaculate finish, driving low into the far corner.
Manchester United got worse after the goal as Rashford conceded a free kick. Cédric Soares stepped up to produce a perfect kick which curled over the wall and beyond the reach of David de Gea.
Marcus Rashford inspired a comeback before half-time, with two goals in six minutes from Romelu Lukaku and Ander Herrera earning the visitors a point, but it was another unconvincing display.
Romelu Lukaku’s strike against Southampton ended a run of 12 games and 981 minutes without a goal for Manchester United in all competitions since netting against Watford mid September.
Both teams did not play well second half to produce any results as the match ended 2-2.
The win moved Manchester United up to 7th place in the Premier League Table, but for the first time since 1977 Manchester United are in goal deficit (goal difference of -1).
