Bayern Munich and Ajax qualify for the knockout stages in Group E, as Robert Lewandowski scores his 51st Champions League goal displacing Thierry Henry from sixth top scorer and five goals more to equal Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record. Ajax win over AEK Athens was marred with violence as mobs throw petro bomb during the game and clash with police.

Bayern were three goals up before the break, with two goals from Arjen Robben after 30 minutes, as Robert Lewandowski scored 6 minutes later, his first of the night and 50th Champions League goal.

Benfica got one back early second half through Carvalho Fernandes strike. Lewandowski headed in his 51st goals, becoming the sixth player to achieve the landmark. Then Franck Ribery added a fifth as Munich joined Ajax in Group E to qualify for the round of 16.

As reported by BBC “Ajax’s 2-0 victory over AEK Athens was marred by violent scenes in the Greek capital as police clashed with the visiting Dutch fans. A petrol bomb was used, while home fans reportedly threw flares towards the away end inside the stadium, as former Southampton striker Dusan Tadic scored both goals for the visitors.”
