Tin Jedvaj scored his first goals for Croatia and headed in a late winner from Luka Modric’s cross to blow open top spot of Group A4 to any of the three countries.
Andrej Kramaric, former Leicester City striker opened the scoring for the hosts 56th minute, as he pounced on Sergio Ramos’ defensive error. Spain equalized immediately through Dani Ceballos, who scored from Isco’s pass.
Tin Jedvaj scored 69th minute to restore Croatia’s lead, but Sergio Ramos equalized ten minutes later from penalty spot.
An injury time goal from Tin Jedvaj, his second of the game sent the group wide open; meaning that all three countries have the opportunity to finish top of Group A4. England will take on Croatia in the last match of the group on Sunday. The country that wins at Wembley on Sunday will finish top of the group and will qualify for finals and also earn a place at Euro 2020. A draw leaves Spain on top of the group, a goalless draw will relegate Croatia while a score draw will relegate England to second tier on head-to-head record.
