Arsenal join Chelsea in reaching Europa League last 32 despite a disappointing goalless draw against Sporting Lisbon at Emirate stadium.  

The match ended goalless as the Arsenal secured a place in the last 32, but what made headlines is Danny Welback‘s injury, the 27-year-old England international sustained an ankle injury 25th minute when he landed awkwardly while trying to head Lichtsteiner’s cross.

According to the Arsenal boss Unai Emery “He is at the hospital. The news is that we are going to wait, but we think it’s a serious injury,” said Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

“It’s a very big injury for him, for us, for all people who like and love him as a person.”

According to Metro News “He received oxygen and had his leg in a protective brace as he was taken off the pitch, with up to 10 medical staff around him as he received treatment.”
