Manchester City advanced to the Carabao quarter finals after an outstanding performance against Fulham as Brahim Diaz scored twice. But a late injury to Kevin de Bruyne overshadowed the outing as he limps out four minutes before regulation time.

The Spanish Under-21 forward, Brahim Diaz scored his first and second goal for Manchester City in each half to book a quarter final spot against either Leicester or Southampton.

However, the main concern for City is De Bruyne, who played his second match since recovering from a right knee ligament injury which kept him on the sideline for two and half months. The Man City medical staff advised that he should not be risked. He was replaced 86th-minute and the full extent of the injury is not known, Pep Guardiola stated after the game; “We don’t know if it’s nothing or if it’s something serious.”

The Belgium midfielder had great night with an impressive performance except for the injury, hopefully it is a minor one.

Manchester City will know their quarter-final opponent on 27 November, when Leicester host Southampton. The fourth round match was postponed due to the helicopter crash that killed Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others.
