Group A: Dortmund thrash Atletico as Club Brugge level against Monaco

Borussia Dortmund thrashed Atletico Madrid in a four goal thriller to maintain a perfect start 100% win in this season’s Champions League. Axel Witsel scored the opening goal of the night with a deflected shot. The Belgium midfielder shot from outside the box 38th minute of the game to score the first goal of the night.

The second goal of the night was scored 73rd minute of the game by Raphael Guerreiro left footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner, assisted by Achraf Hakimi.

Then 10 minutes later Jadon Sancho an England international came off the bench to score his first Champions League goal for Borussia Dortmund with a simple tap-in, making it 3 goals for Dortmund.

Guerreiro then made it 4-0 after capitalizing on a poor back pass from Felipe Luis to seal the victory.

The result is currently the biggest defeat for Diego Simeone’s in his seven years in charge of Atletico.

With this result Dortmund top Group A with nine points. Atletico remain in second, having won their first two games.


Moraes Ferreira da Silva secured a draw for Club Brugge (FootyRoom)

Also another Group A match between Club Brugge and Monaco ended in 1-1 draw with  Moraes Ferreira da Silva scoring for the home team and Moussa Sylla scored for Monaco.
