Mesut Ozil was the star of the match and was instrumental to Arsenal win, by far his best performance this Premier League season as Arsenal beat Leicester to earn a 10th successive win in all competitions. Arsenal have won 10 consecutive matches in all competitions for the first time since October 2007.
Leicester took the well-deserved lead through an own goal in the 31st minute, having dominated the first 30 minutes of the match and should have been awarded a penalty when Rob Holding appeared to intentionally handle the ball. The goal was turned in by Héctor Bellerín from Ben Chilwell’s attempted low cross. However, Mesut Ozil scored an equalizer just before the end of the first half. He raced forward, played a one-two with Bellerin and scored a stunning finish off the far post.
Arsenal’s second goal was scored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang three minutes before the hour-mark and 3 minutes after he was introduced into the game. Ozil was involved in the buildup to this goal as he broke through the defence passed to Bellerín who made a square cross to Aubameyang.
The last goal was scored by Aubameyang three minutes later. A right footed shot from very close range to the centre of the goal, assisted by Mesut Özil.
Mesut Ozil was named Man of the match after a great performance.
