In a game dominated by Real Madrid with 70% possession and 6 shots on target, it is an injury-time header by Manu Garcia from a corner that condemned Real Madrid to their four consecutive win-less game. Real Madrid has lost three games in four matches without scoring.

No one has been able to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo. Gareth Bale played for the first time after missing the Champions League match against CSKA Moscow which Madrid lost. The Welshman had to leave last Saturday’s Madrid Derby against Atletico with what appeared to be a groin injury, but an MRI on Monday revealed that he didn’t suffer an injury.

Also credit to Alavés goalkeeper who saved Karim Benzema and Dani Ceballos shots on goal.  Alavés have also played very well this season and are currently joint top table with Real Madrid and Barcelona, though Barcelona have a game at hand at Valencia tomorrow.
