Europa Day 1: Chelsea, Arsenal and Milan won their games

In a highly contested match AC Milan defeated F91 Dudelange with a lone goal from Gonzalo Higuain to top Group F whereas the game between the remaining group members; Olympiakos and Real Betis ended in a goalless draw.

In another match Arsenal outclassed Vorskla Poltava with a commanding possession of 70%. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice, Danny Wellback and Mesut Özil scored two goals each, making it a 4-2 win. Arsenal and Sporting are joint leaders of the Group E, since the matched between Sporting and FK Qarabag ended in 2-0.

Chelsea won their opening match with a dominant display that produced only one goal scored by William against POAK. They missed many opportunities to increase their goal tally. In another game BATE Borisov won (2-0) against MOL Vidi, leading the group by a goals difference ahead of Chelsea.
