A lackluster display by Arsenal gave Liverpool the opportunity to dominate and win the match by 4 unreplied goals.
Arsenal’s defence could not contain the attacking pace of Liverpool strikers with Mane from the left and Salah from the right and Firmino the center man. Roberto Firmino headed a cross from Joe Gomez to give Liverpool a 17th-minute lead. The second goal came on the 40th-minute from Sadio Mane, making it 2 goals before the half time period. Arsenal, in a bid to recover from the first half shock lost possession and Mohamed Salah ran half of the field on the break to score the third goal after 57 minutes. The fouth and last goal came from Liverpool’s substitute Daniel Sturridge who scored 13 minutes before the end of the match.
More goals would have been scored but for saves from Peter Cech who was the only outstanding Arsenal player in the game.
