Another dominant performance from Manchester United winning with a strong possession of about 70% throughout the match. Though first half ended goalless, second half saw Leicester pegged back to their own half almost throughout the match. The breakthrough goal came from the 67th minute substitute Marcus Rashford, who converted a corner kick from Henrkh Mkhitaryan. This opened up the game. The second goal came from Marouane Fellaini who deflected a shot from Jesse Lingard inside six yard box into the net. It should have been more goals, had Lukaku converted the penalty awarded to Manchester United. It was saved by Leicester keep – Kapser Schmeichel.
Two controversial moments – a disallowed goal scored by Juan Mata, the lines man ruled it as offside but one can argue whether it was really an offside, but a replay shows that Mata’s arm sticking out behind the last defender. The second goal from Fellaini, replay shows that his right foot was offside.
So far Manchester United are perfect with 10 goals in 3 matches and clean sheet. Some people have called this season a substitute season for United since some of their goals come from substitutes and the impact made by substitute.
