Real Madrid retained possession during most part of the game especially in the first half with many scoring opportunities – a total of 16 shots and 6 on target. ┬áCasemiro opened the score sheet during the first half few minutes after hitting the bar from a half volley shot.

Isco doubled the lead in the 2nd half with assist from Gareth Bale who started in the first half in place of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lukaku gave some hope to United after tapping home a rebound from Matic shot.

Both team would have scored more goals – Gareth Bale’s shot stopped by the goal bar, a miss from Marcus Rashford, an earlier miss from Lukaku inside the box 18 yard and many more.

Overall Manchester United shows some potential within the team. Hopefully more lessons for Mourinho. If Manchester United had started the way they player after a goal and 2 goals down they would have surprised Madrid, though they are aware of the danger posed by Madrid’s forwards on counter attack.

They are still far from the Champions League winners but hopefully things will turn out better for them in future as they challenge for Premier League title.
