Michael Carrick – the new Captain of United

Jose Mourinho has named Michael Carrick the new captain of Manchester United following the departure of the ManUnited legend Wayne Rooney to his former club Everton. Having played for Manchester United since 2006, and as the club’s longest-serving player the 35 years old midfielder has stepped up to this responsibility.

In his interview with MUTV he said that it was a huge and great honour to serve as a captain of this great club, that he never knew he will get to this height when he signed for the club just over a decade ago, he got transferred from Tottenham Hotspur for £18.6m.

Michael Carrick has played 459 games and has won five Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the Champions League and currently a title holder of Europa Cup.
