Manchester United has high jacked Chelsea’s main target after their £75m bid for Romelu Lukaku was accepted. Despite being soldout of Chelsea by Jose Mourinho the 24-year old Belgian bears no grudge against the Portuguese manager. He prefers a move to Manchester United over a return to Chelsea. Manchester has used this as advantage to land the young Belgian striker’s signature. Since joining Everton the young striker has scored a total of 68 goals in 141 appearances for Everton in the English Premier League. He scored 25 goals in 37 appearances last season in EPL. This performance has attracted his former club and other EPL clubs including Manchester United.
Wayne Rooney may not have been used as a bargaining chip to convince Everton. But it is assumed that this deal went through so that it would be easier to land Rooney.
