Wayne Rooney has decided to go back to his root. The 31-year old striker and captain of Manchester United has decided to withdraw from the preseason tour to USA after agreeing to join Everton on a two-year deal for £250,000-a-week. He was told earlier by Jose Mourinho that he is free to leave. He is expected to complete his move before the end of this week. He left Goodison Park club in 2004 to Old Trafford on a £26.5m transfer deal.
Rooney became United all-time leading goal scorer with 253 goals in 559 appearances.
